Tempestas | 24×12″| oil on canvas

I began this composition with feelings of being overwhelmed, as we all sometimes are. I try to find small moments of beauty to ground me and stop the circular thoughts spinning in my head. Thus the spinning hair punctuated by flowers.

I named her Tempestas for the Roman goddess of storms and weather. She is depicted with a whirlwind of flowing hair and begonia flowers. Begonias can symbolize caution and awareness in the face of danger.
